About the Author

Having begun writing as a child, Dr. Harvey-Smith recognizes and appreciates the strength of words. “Words have the power to heal and to inspire, they also have the power to harm, she advises us, to choose wisely.

She has authored several articles and publications including On The Brink: Reimagining Strategic Enrollment Management in Colleges and Universities; Eclectic Insights Part 1 – A Composition of Poetry and Essays on Varying Thoughts and Differing Opinions; Partnering for Success: How to Build Strong Internal Collaborations in Higher Education; The Seventh Learning College Principle: A Framework for Transformational Change; and Getting Real: Proven Strategies for Student Survival and Academic Success.

Her research is cited in the acclaimed  Redesigning America’s Community College: A Clearer Path to Student Success; released by Harvard University Press. Dr. Harvey-Smith is also the originator of the Seventh Learning College Principle, a cultural transformation framework focused on the intentional creation and nurturance of organizational cultures that are open and responsive to consistent change and learning.
